Steve Sutton – Woodwinds and Vocals

Steve is from Hueytown, Alabama and went to the University of Alabama. He has been playing music since he was 8 years old and formed his first band at 13. Playing at teen centers for .50 cents a gig started his R&B foot moving. His first big move was joining a group out of Birmingham, AL called the Premiers while in high school and played guitar. They made the Armory Tour (as in National Guard), played in most colleges in the south and summers at Panama City Beach, FL and the Birmingham area. Any one remember the Hang Out and Dukes?

When at the University of Alabama, and a member of the Million Dollar Band, he helped form the Fourteen Feet of Soul. While pitching the 14 Feet to a club owner in Panama City Beach, Steve played with the Pieces of Eight one night on saxophone and the next day, after returning back to Hueytown, was called and was invited to be a member of P.O.E.

Steve has worked in the food industry for 39 years and is about to kick back in Costa Rica with his wife and travel back for family and the band. He loves Bama football and his favorite groups are Tower of Power, Cold Blood and any band with soul and lots of horns……….

“It is my last band and the old guys and new guys are like brothers. I wouldn’t take anything for the relationships and the love that I have for these guys and their families. It’s been a great pleasure to be a part of the band and I am looking forward to see how long we can make this great sound last.” ………….Steve
