History - The Pieces of Eight

The Pieces of Eight, originally from Greenwood South Carolina, formed in 1967 after breaking away from the Swinging Medallions. The Pieces of Eight toured all over the southeast bringing their original and energetic sound to every venue they performed at, leaving audiences begging for more.

In the years to follow they recorded many hits including a horn version of Double Shot of My Baby's` Love and their signature hit , Lonely Drifter.

Six of the original members have reunited after long break and the group continues to grow. Pieces of Eight now consists of 12 members , five of whom are music majors, and a 7 piece horn section. They continue to thrill audiences young and old alike with their brass and vocal harmonies . They are playing for festivals, high-school reunions, weddings, fund-raisers, corporate events, and continue to have a loyal group of followers. They are excited about being back together, and always looking forward to their next big event.
